September was one of the warmest months on record. We had many many days in the middle to high twenties, and several in the low thirties. This would have been wonderful if we hadn’t had to be in school.
Given the circumstances, Grade Six are some of the luckiest students at HCS; their classroom has the only functioning air conditioner! How cool is that!
In September, we had Blue and White Day which was the first home football game of the season. There was a barbecue at lunchtime, a pep rally introducing all the teams, and the football game at 2:00.
Today we have “SuperHero Day!” Many students and some teachers have dressed as superheros. In the afternoon, there is a movie for grades 5-12, Monsters and Aliens, because we sold enough magazines for the SLC fundraising drive.
October 1 starts tomorrow. The weather has grown colder and the nights are growing longer. Hopefully (at least for some of us) the snow won’t cover the ground for several more weeks!
Ms. C.

I am so glad to hear from you! Hopefully we’ll be up and running by the end of the week with all the students’ blogs.

That would be great, we’re in the middle of school holidays at the moment, but about to start our fourth and final term of 2009 on October 12th!
